Modernizing Boston's Pump Stations
The MWRA Pump Station Upgrade project marks a significant advancement in water treatment infrastructure across five key locations in the Boston area.
Upgrades were meticulously executed at the following pump stations:
- Hyde Park Pump Station, Hyde Park, MA
- Brattle Court Pump Station, Arlington, MA
- Spring Street Pump Station, Arlington, MA
- Belmont Pump Station, Belmont, MA
- Reservoir Road Pump Station, Brookline, MA
The comprehensive scope of the project included new 13.8 services and installation of low-voltage switchboards at the Hyde Park, Brattle Court, and Spring Street stations. Notably, the upgrade included the seamless cutover of new Motor Control Centers (MCCs) at all five locations, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Fischbach & Moore was responsible for a multitude of components:
- Installation of new fire alarm and security systems at each location, bolstering safety measures
- Installation of new HVAC systems at each location
- Introduction of new PLCs with UPS, AFDs, transformers, electrical panels, automatic transfer switches, 480v pumps, and control panels
- Implementation of new interior lighting systems, enhancing visibility and operational efficiency
